I dont know if youll ever see this, but I'm so sorry to hear you're STILL dealing with that person Rachel; its not fair at all and its completely ridiculous. I hope you take solice in the fact that a lot of people know that they're spouting complete sewage water. My girlfriend dealt with a similar person last year, and it just completely drained her. Some people are just completely unhinged, and its upsetting that they get so much life out of destroying others. If it helps at all, I'm so careful with who I watch and support, and you've managed to stay in my good books for years (which cant be said for most youtubers I've seen). I grown to watch only people i morally stand with (as an incredibly left wing working class trans man) and you're definitely one of them. Stay strong queen. ❤

I honestly don't get why people cannot remove the art from the artist. How can you enjoy anything a terrible person even does anymore if you know they've done horrific things? Their horrifying sensibilities is what influences their art

40:27 oh man this part pisses me off so much more than even the sh part... i used to think i was doing that, back when i was in school, but it actually turns out i have (most likely polygrafmented) dissociative identity disorder with so much unaddressed trauma i haven't been able to get help for because mental health services suck ass where i live... i spend most of my days dissociated as fuck and dealing with physical symptoms of trauma i don't even remember, and the parts of me who were most active through my school years, the ones who did the "killing my mental self" thing are probably some of the most traumatized. i know it's different because DID stems from early childhood trauma and can't onset in adulthood, but still, don't fucking tell people to dissociate from themselves, what the actual fuck edit: i just got to the end of the video where you talk about your book and i'm so excited to get my hands on it once you publish it!! keep up the great work Rachel!

my mom used to go to a nondenominational church where the congregation was an odd mix of christians with values from a bunch of different denominations (this church catered specifically towards recovering addicts and people who possibly felt shunned by their previous church), and she made friends with one of the women there. for a few weeks, there was a big contention point about letting a woman preach a sermon behind the pulpit (the pedestal that preachers stand behind). the main preacher was a man, but a woman (not my mom's friend) in the congregation felt called by god to preach (or something like that. i don't remember all the details) and SEVERAL people in the church were vehemently against it. she didn't even want to lead every single service, just some (or maybe even just one?) of them. but their whole argument was that women can speak in church if they want to, but they should NEVER speak from behind the pulpit. my mom and the male preacher were among those who thought that rule was stupid and that anyone should be able to stand at the pulpit and speak, but the majority of the congregation fought against that idea. eventually, the preacher removed the pulpit altogether in sort of a "now no one gets to be behind the pulpit" action. anyway, because of this, my mom's friend's husband decided that they weren't going to attend this church anymore. Mom's friend wanted to stay because she'd made so many meaningful connections with other members, but the husband's decision was law. it didn't matter what she wanted, they were going to a new church because he didn't like the outcome of that situation. my mom no longer got to see her friend. it terrifies me to see women in relationships like this because i can't see how someone could possibly be happy with such little autonomy. i'm not sure if this story seems significant to other people, but it bothered me a lot at the time. watching this unfold as a 17 year old, i told myself i never wanted to be in a relationship where my input didn't matter.

To me its simple. Society needs to stop treating women as perfect and men as broken.

in an attempt to explain the "in the floor" thing: it's not necessarily a typo. it's a part of the dialect in some parts of the US (midwest and the south i believe). it is grammatically incorrect, but that's how some people here talk. i'll even say "in the floor" when i'm speaking aloud, but never when I'm writing, because I know that it's incorrect. it's similar to the "i could care less" thing.

While I loathe giving this twit any credit. Telling his naive audience to also visualise steps towards their nebulous goals, does put his advice a step beyond the swath of manifestation gurus out here. Everything else was painful, hateful or just plain childish. But I will grudgingly concede this one point. Though this also can be viewed through the seemingly ever present lense of: "The bar is in hell".

If women say that they don't need a man, why do the same women wonder why MTGOW exists? Its just like women say, we don't need a man to come and save them. And then, women see on the news, where women have been in life or death situations. And no man around will come and save them from it. Or if women are stranded on the side of the road, and men just drive by like they don't exist. Because women say that they are strong and independent in any situation.

So excited for the book Rachel is making, it sounds really cool. This is my favourite UA-cam channel because of her personality and the way she explains things, how she values art, helping people, and hopefully making the world a better place. I find Rachel very relatable and easy to agree with, despite living a very different life from her. These videos are thoughtful yet easy listening whenever I’m doing laundry, working on an art project, on a bike ride (etc). I love passion projects and I’m sure I’ll get a lot out of reading the book when it comes out!

I had to read the subtle art of not giving a fuck for a highschool assignment and got nothing out of it. His message was pretty confusing - don't give a fuck but also you have to give a fuck about people see your actions because you have to perform specific actions to be a good employee/parent/friend/citizen

To me the gathering of evidence seems a bit sus… she could’ve provoked him to just get the evidence to support her case. Else why be recording? And if she knew it was abusive enough to record then why not just leave him?

There's truly such a glow to your words and expressions whenever you talk about photography, it's lovely I do a bit of photography myself and recently i was lucky enough to be gifted a polaroid camera by my parents. I would love to see a video on the basics of photography in regards to story telling and such along with technical bits? Similar to your entry to poetry video ig. With a digital camera I'm not that nervous about wasting resources, but with a polaroid its kinda inevitable so im trying to minimize that
